He felt dirty, doing this. Wrong.
But if it was the only way to get Dru back, hell, he'd slay a bloody dragon. Then again, seeing the fire-spewing hatred the blonde was throwing his way, Spike wondered if he wasn't doing that already.
He looked the Slayer dead in the eye, "I can't fight them both alone, and neither can you!"
He really should have expected the punch in the jaw. He didn't, and it rang through him like a gong. He felt his face, checking for breakage or blood.
"I hate you."
You just smacked me in the mouth, kitten, I'm not exactly your biggest fan. "And I'm all you've got."
A sort of heart-broken acceptance lit up hazel eyes, "All right. Talk."
Spike smiled.
